The HUMANITA Summit: From Visitor Impact to Nature Protection – Building a Human–Nature Harmony

How can tourism thrive while nature is protected – not pressured?

On 24 February 2026, Zagreb becomes the meeting point for forward-thinking professionals at the HUMANITA Summit, the final conference of the HUMANITA project, supported by the Interreg CENTRAL EUROPE Programme 2021–2027 and co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund.

Hosted at the EUROCENTER Office Building (Miramarska 23, Zagreb), the Summit brings together decision-makers, practitioners, researchers and community voices from tourism and nature protection to explore innovative, evidence-based solutions for managing visitor impact while safeguarding natural heritage.

This is more than a conference – it is a space for exchange, inspiration and co-creation, dedicated to shaping a shared European vision of human–nature harmony.

The Summit is intended for everyone interested in creating new narratives, “common heritage“ concept, and a sustainable approach to building a human–nature harmony, from students and young professionals, experienced experts and decision-makers, to local communities, visitors and tourists.

After the conference, we are pleased to invite you to a study trip on February 25, 2026, in Plitvice Lakes National Park, Lika-Senj County, Croatia, which includes a tour and an authentic “Lika“ lunch.

We invite you to take a look at all the details in the official agenda.
